The Department of Ophthalmology's subspecialty clinic at 764 Lakeland Drive houses all of the various aspects of comprehensive and subspecialty eye care all under one roof. The building is located across Lakeland Drive from the UMMC campus. The facility offers services in the care of diseases of the retina and the cornea, glaucoma, ocular plastic surgery, neuro-ophthalmology and comprehensive ophthalmology. A pediatric ophthalmologist is located on the first floor of the building. The separate clinic provides a comfortable and child-friendly space.
The clinic offers the latest in ophthalmic imaging and testing, and many ophthalmic laser and minor surgeries are performed here. Screenings for laser vision correction surgery are done at the Lakeland Clinic. Major eye surgeries are scheduled at University Hospital's outpatient surgery center.
Additional comprehensive eye services and exams are performed at University Physicians-Grants Ferry. This location as well as well as six other locations around Mississippi serve as satellite clinics for comprehensive and subspecialty eye care.
Full-service contact lens and optical shops are located at the Lakeland facility as well as the UP-Grants Ferry location.
